Intro to Little Mormon Mom

courtesy: LDS.org
Hi.  I'm Jeannine.  I'm a "Mormon," or rather, I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  (LDS Church for short.)  Sometimes I am referred to as a Mormon because I believe in a book of scripture which was written by many prophets (Like the Holy Bible) and edited by an ancient prophet named Mormon.  It is called "The Book of Mormon.  Another Testament of Jesus Christ."  I love the Book of Mormon.  It is a book full of truth and power.  It enables those who read or listen to it with a heart turned toward God to come closer to Him and be more like He is.

I love being a Mormon.  I love belonging to a church that not only lifts, inspires and teaches me, but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's gospel restored to the Earth in it's fullness.  That's what I believe.

I also believe that there is a lot of good found in other churches and people who may or may not attend any certain church.  I believe there are many followers of Christ in the vast world and you don't have to belong to the LDS church to be Christian.  I also believe you don't have to be a Christian to be a good person.  I have learned some beautiful things from friends of mine who are (non-LDS) Christian, atheist, Bhuddist, Muslim, etc...  I have even felt that a certain atheist friend was a better Christian than I.

I created this blog with a purpose, and it is not to convert everyone to "Mormonism" or even to the LDS church.  Last night I was at a Relief Society meeting.  We were taught by a lady who is a Jewish Mormon.  It was amazing.  She would say things like "I was wild.  Well, I wasn't wild to my friends, but to you I was wild."  The first New Years Eve party she went to with Mormons was very different than anything she had really experienced before.

I thought I should create a blog to expose to people who don't know or who may want to know what life might look like from my perspective.  Here, you get an insider's look into what a Mormon experience might be like.  Granted, it is different for every person and we each learn different things at even the same time but we are all taught the same doctrine and we all (probably all...I think all...) have the same goal: to return to God, our Heavenly Father, when we have finished our mission in this life and inherit eternal life and pure happiness and joy, living with God and like God in eternal family units.  (Well, I hope I explained that ok.)  If you want the realio, trulio, non-paraphrased doctrine about it you can visit LDS.org to find out more.  (Official website of the LDS church, for whom I am not a spokesman.)  You guys.  That is such a beautiful website.  Visit it.  Use it.  You don't have to be LDS to benefit from it.

Ok, well, I have rambled on enough for this page.  I hope to share more of what this little Mormon Mom's life is like.  I think it's pretty normal.  But maybe you won't?  Or maybe you will find that you and I are just like each other?

God bless you & send His spirit with you,

J
PS.  Did you know you can get a free copy of The Book of Mormon?  You just go to that link and it is on the right side.  Or you can read it online.  There's also a coloring book for the kids!  I love good free stuff.
